The Corporate Group at Turner Parkinson advised healthcare solutions provider Westco Medical on a venture capital investment by the North West Fund for Biomedical. Established by George Gallagher and Sean Thomas in 2009, Westco has developed and patented medical technology used in nasal tube feeding. The investment will fund the development of the “NG-Pod”, a device which ensures the safe delivery of clinical nutrition to a patient. Westco is currently seeking a licensing partner in order to take the product through to launch. James Sheridan and Nicky Davies advised on the deal. Corporate Partner Sheridan said: “George is a leading entrepreneur in the medical technology field and, having advised him on previous projects, it was great to be involved with him once again on this exciting new venture.” Turner Parkinson has advised on four North West Fund deals since the Fund launched in 2011, most recently advising pharmaceutical development company Evgen on a £1m Series A funding round.
